About Us
In 1987 I joined a South African based Alloy Wheel Manufacturer with Manufacturing Plants in Germany, Brazil, North America and South Africa and at the time, it was the only manufacturer that invested in a high pressure aluminum alloy casting procedure as their main Original Equipment Customers then dictated to switch to high pressure casting from the normal pour casting system. Low pressure, or gravity pour casting systems are still in use today all over the world, but due to porosity, it lacks in strength and have a higher failure rate as opposed to the High Pressure Casting method. If you have had the pleasure to visit an alloy wheel Manufacturer, you would have noticed that the wheel “make up division” always outnumbers all the other employees in the manufacturing process. They fill up little pin holes and file away excess metal using nonferrous material and the process remind one watching a lady applying her make up before an evening out.
We were making wheels for Opel, BMW, Nissan and Daimler worldwide as well as for our Retail Operations in North America, United Kingdom and South Africa and because we had such a high production volume, there was a lot of opportunity for growth in the Company, especially to develop the Production Systems. I was fortunate to be trained by French, Italian and German workers from the old BBS plants in Italy and was further fortunate to be involved in the beginning of Computer Aided Design in Alloy Manufacturing.
After eight years with the Company I decided to go on my own, as I realized there was a very good potential for new and innovative designs and styles, not only in my own Country, but also in Germany, United Kingdom, Japan and the United States. I had the background needed to identify new trends in the markets and I had the pleasure to meet Businessmen from all over the globe through which I could network and in the process Vicious Metal and Vicious Alloy Wheels were formed for distribution. Our Head Offices are based in Taipei, Taiwan for direct and better contact with manufacturing as well as very affordable and efficient shipping. A Huge advantage was lastly that we could eliminate all language barriers with Manufacturing.
The Luxury Vehicle markets started moving away from big German saloon vehicles and the Executive Sport Utility Vehicle (S.U.V.) developed for the Luxury Transportation market segment. This move caused huge head aces in the alloy wheel business as the vehicle mass far exceeded the maximum carrying capacity that the normal alloy wheel could handle, whether it be gravity pour casting or high pressure casting.
In the meantime Sweden developed alloy wheels for trucks and they were not so much for aesthetic appeal and just looks as was the case in the passenger wheel market, but the real advantage was weight saving, as the forged alloy wheel they developed, could easily save four tons in dry mass on the eighteen wheeler truck tractor combinations available in the rest of the world. This would mean that you could load an additional four tons of cargo and still be within the legal maximum payload on the road and if you transport goods over vast distances in Australia, South Africa and North America this would amount to very substantial profits on every single haul. The forged aluminum wheels could easily carry the maximum load per wheel very safely.
We met with a Manufacturer specializing in Forged Alloy wheels in Taiwan that already had contracts with Motor Manufacturers in the United States and together we used our styling knowledge with their Safety and Development Programs to manufacture Forged Alloy Wheels for a very exclusive and individual series, sold in very limited quantities to Tuning Specialists in China and in Japan.
Through Research and Development in conjunction with our overseas network, we developed a range of Forged Alloy Wheels for the car enthusiast that wanted more than the mass production alloy wheels that were available and of course it is about aesthetics mainly, but is nice that it could also at the same time be a lot safer due to the high carrying capacity of forged wheels. The real advantage is that is lighter and this not only reduces fuel consumption, but it really lowers carbon emissions through exhaust gasses. The brakes are better ventilated on any alloy wheel and heat from the disks are better absorbed through the material where the bolts down onto the brake rotor. For the serious enthusiast and person that enjoys his car, the reduced unsprung weight from the wheel and tire combination causes better handling through corners and more direct steering response as well. Unsprung weight in racing terms is all the mass hanging from the suspension that will forcefully and unnecessarily pull the wheel and tire down through corners or after the vehicle moved over a bump in the road.
The process is inevitably more complex and very time consuming in comparison to a casting process, but if you are really concerned about the environment, safety, handling and performance of your vehicle and you get the added bonus that you purchase a more unique styled product, we both know that you have come to the right place. The added features here above will easily justify any investment in our product.
Lastly, be assured that we do not need putty, filler material or sandpaper to make your wheels safer or better looking.
